SULPHURIC ACID

SULPHURIC ACID

Sulphuric acid is a colorless, odorless oily liquid.  It is also named as Oil of Vitriol or Spirit of Sulphur and different names that refer to the chemical compound H2SO4. It boils at 338°C, has a specific gravity of 1.84@ 15˚C, and mixes violently with water.

Our sulphuric acid plant technology is based on the Double Conversion, Double Absorption (DCDA) contact process by M/S.Monsanto – DMCC Enviro-Tech and Engineering Limited. It consists of three principal steps:

1. Combustion of Sulphur to produce Sulphur Dioxide gas.
2. Conversion of Sulphur Dioxide gas to Sulphur Trioxide gas in presence of vanadium containing catalysts.
3. Absorption of Sulphur Trioxide in Sulphuric Acid to produce Disulphuric Acid, and reaction of Disulphuric Acid with water to produce strong Sulphuric Acid.

Sulphuric Acid extensively used in fertilizer manufacturing, water treatment plants, petrochemical, metallurgical & steel industry, pulp and paper industry, storage batteries and as raw material for a wide variety of chemical industries.

Our standard grade is of concentration 98.5%, and we too have in-house facility to produce different grades of sulphuric acid concentration varying from 78% up to 5%
